Q:During our Fusion Bible study last night we were involved in a deep discussion regarding prayer. It was based on the verse James 4:3 (NIV) "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures." The kids argued that God answers all prayers and the answers are one of three options (yes, no and not now). I on the other hand was saying that God's answer to prayers are always YES. That an "unanswered" prayer or one that is answered negatively is really is a prayer that never got to the Father because of your wrong motives and pride. In other words, your prayers are either heavenly (in accordance with His will) or demonic (in the flesh) therefore as James states, God resists the proud and will not even hear those prayers. 1 John 5:14 would suggest that he only hears good prayers. Question: Does God hear all of our prayers? (that is good and bad prayers)
