Q:I cannot find the proper Bible passage, and I just don't know how to ask this, but something that always troubles me is when I see beggars on street corners with signs saying they are homeless, hungry, anything will help, they are veterans, etc. I am afraid if I don't give something to them, I am displeasing God, and if I do give something to them, (I have heard) they will use it for alcohol, drugs, etc. I've heard that it is a regular business, but surely some of them are real. How do I tell the difference? How do I handle this? As the saying goes, I am very conflicted about it.
